Night: Chapter 4
First and second period discuss their thoughts on the events in chapter 4 of Night.
Poll Everywhere
Today, students were allowed to use their cell phones to respond to a poll about the book we're reading (Night). This is a way for students to participate anonymously in class discussions, and still have their voices heard. Both classes really enjoyed this activity!
R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Today both World Literature classes did a chalk talk on respect to prepare to read Elie Wiesel's Night.
It was wonderful to see how important respect was to everyone in the class.
This chalk talk fueled a great discussion about how we should treat others, and I think it really set the tone for the class.
We are all different - and that's okay! :)

Learning Style Inventories
Below are the learning styles of first and second period. It is important to know that we all learn differently. No learning style is better than another - they are just differnet. No two people have the same exact brain, so we all process things differently. Knowing what type of learner we are will help us develop study habits that will aid retention of new material and concepts. Visual learners study better when looking at the material, or picturing it in their minds. Charts, maps, filmstrips, notes, and flashcards are great study tools for visual learners. Auditory learners learn better by hearing the information. Reading notes and then summarizing aloud really helps auditory learners study for tests and prepare for class discussions. Tactile learners learn better by doing. Make flashcards, taking or rewriting notes, and making study sheets are excellent study aids fro tactile learners.
